Artist Statement: NUMINA
I’ve often felt that nature speaks a language deeper than our own. Wherever in the world I’ve been, it has always felt familiar — a kind of clarity beyond words.
Scandinavian folklore filled my childhood with stories of forests, rivers and oceans inhabited by sprites. Whether imagined or real mattered less than the way those stories taught me to pay attention. They left me with a sense that the landscape is not simply a backdrop, but an active presence — that if we are lucky, in the rustling of trees, shifting light across water, or the stillness before rain, we might glimpse something just beyond our understanding.
My paintings are an attempt to capture those moments where the boundary between the seen and unseen softens, and the world feels quietly charged. They reflect on wonder, belonging, and nature's invisible currents — forces that may not be mystical, but always leave room for mystery.
