Artist Statement: NUMINA
The dawn of each day is never the same. It brings new rhythms, potential and excitement for what lies ahead. As the day develops, we respond through thought and action, trying to grasp, capture and process fleeting moments. Making sense of, or controlling, what we're confronted with can feel like a hopeless task, but it's vital all the same, part of the fabric and soul that helps us navigate our way through the day and beyond.
In my current work, subtle changes in form, colour and texture, and how they respond to light, shadow and the surrounding environment, are continually evolving, always sitting with a calm, ever-changing presence.
As dusk settles in, some things remain unresolved, unfinished, or open new thoughts; others reach a satisfying conclusion. I'm comfortable with that. And tomorrow, a new dawn beckons.
